## Description

WSP is currently seeking a Senior Engineer – Civil & Structural to join our Power department. Working out of our office in India, while collaborating closely with our office in USA, the Senior Engineer – Civil & Structural will report directly to the Structural Discipline Lead, Power & Energy, USA.

The role involves designing light and heavy foundations and structures for power plant projects, including solar farms, battery energy storage facilities, substation projects, and large power generation projects. The ideal candidate will have experience with structural engineering principles, practices, and processes, as well as excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities:

- Design light foundations and structures for solar farms, battery energy storage facilities, and substation projects.

- Design heavy foundations and structures for large power generation projects: generators, turbines, transformers, pipe racks, gas compressors, metal building systems, and masonry walls/buildings.

- Design structural steel systems for buildings, platforms, equipment supports, etc.

- Coordinate design requirements with drafter/designers.

- Interact with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients in a confident and professional manner.

- Proactively collaborate with other engineers, professionals, and infrastructure authorities on various projects.

- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

- 7+ years of relevant post-education experience in engineering discipline and prior structural or civil design experience.

- PE license

- Proficient with structural engineering principles, practices, process, and the application to project work-related issues.

- Well-defined specific knowledge of relevant structural and civil construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.

- Experience with power generation, transmission, and distribution projects

- Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills.

- Demonstrated high-level of self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.

- Highly proficient with technical writing, office automation, discipline-specific design software (i.e., MicroStation, AutoCAD, RISA, STAAD, SAP), technology, math principles, physics, predictive models, spreadsheets, and tools.

- Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

- Demonstrated effectiveness at coordinating and assertively directing subcontractors and others.

- Knowledge of geotechnical engineering

- Experience with pre-engineered metal building systems

- Experience with seismic analysis and design

- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety.
