## Description

We are looking for a Technical Lead for the Scribe backend team at Grab, a Southeast Asian superapp. The successful candidate will set the technical direction for the platform, own its architecture, cost, and reliability, and mentor a team of senior engineers and interns.

The Scribe platform captures and processes user clickstream activity across all Grab apps at petabyte scale, powering observability, experimentation, real-time personalization, and business analytics.

Key responsibilities include:

- Owning the architecture and roadmap of Scribe's backend

- Leading Project MEGA to completion

- Designing and delivering the governed clickstream data layer and event vocabulary

- Running the platform cost program

- Writing RFCs and driving cross-team technical decisions

- Leading an engineering team with diverse technical stacks

The ideal candidate will have:

- A software engineering or computer science undergraduate degree

- At least 7 years of experience in software engineering, including experience as a technical lead or architect

- Proficiency in Go or willingness to learn it, with hands-on experience in Python or Scala

- Experience developing large-scale backend and streaming systems

- Experience defining and enforcing data contracts or schemas across many producer teams

- Experience owning cloud cost for a large data platform on AWS
