## Description

As a Principal Associate, Data Scientist on the Card Finance Innovation Team at Capital One, you'll play a key role in shaping the next generation of data-driven financial services.

The team focuses on building a cutting-edge forecasting ecosystem using Python, OneLake, and Snowflake to drive business decisions. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy machine learning models, analyze large datasets, and translate complex results into actionable insights.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Partner with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to deliver customer-centric products

- Leverage a range of technologies, including Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, and Spark, to uncover insights in large datasets

- Develop and implement machine learning models throughout the development lifecycle

- Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

**Requirements:**

- Currently pursuing or holding a degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field)

- At least 5 years of experience in data analytics (for Bachelor's degree holders) or 3 years (for Master's degree holders)

- Strong technical skills in programming languages, such as Python, and experience with machine learning and SQL

**Preferred Qualifications:**

- Master's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics)

- Experience with Python, Scala, or R

- Familiarity with machine learning and SQL

- Experience working with AWS

**Salary:**

- $161,800 - $184,600 per year (full-time annual salary for McLean, VA location)
