## Description

The Medical Scribe role at Oak Street Health involves supporting primary care providers with clinical documentation, allowing them to focus on providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:

- Documenting patient encounters in real-time, including observing and documenting patient visits, assigning CPT and ICD-10 codes, and preparing After Visit Summaries

- Improving clinical documentation through requesting and reviewing medical records, leveraging population health tools, and consulting with providers

- Providing administrative support to providers and care teams, including placing orders and referrals, addressing tasks, and supporting clinical documentation

Requirements:

- Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications

- Prior clinical experience, including shadowing and/or volunteering

- Advanced listening and communication skills

- Strong computer literacy and ability to learn new technical workflows

- Ability to adapt to new workflows and quickly learn new concepts and skills

- Ability to type 70+ words per minute

- Excellent job attendance and ability to work in-person in clinics

- Commitment to at least 1 year in the role
