### The Identity Threat Protection Team

Identity Threat Protection (ITP), powered by cutting-edge Okta AI, delivers real-time defence against sophisticated threats. By integrating with existing security infrastructure, ITP analyses user behaviour and system data to proactively hunt down and neutralise risks.

### The Staff Software Engineer Opportunity

We're seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the ITP engineering team. You will tackle critical security challenges and design, build, launch, and scale world-class security products.

### What you'll be doing

- Architect and lead the design, development, delivery, and supportability of cloud-native security products

- Drive collaboration with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, and design

- Uphold excellence in software engineering through rigorous code reviews and comprehensive testing

- Lead remote teams and ensure product quality, agility, and velocity

- Mentor and empower junior engineers

### What you'll bring to the role

- 7+ years of experience building Java-based web applications

- Deep understanding of design patterns, scalability patterns, security engineering, and object-oriented principles

- Experience thriving in fast-paced software development teams with continuous integration and deployment practices

- Strong communication skills and ability to work across functions

- Proven track record of championing best practices in security

### Nice to Have

- Experience building anomaly detection systems or risk systems

- Expertise in cloud security, identity, and/or authentication protocols

- Hands-on experience with cutting-edge UI technologies such as Angular, ReactJS, or Vue

### Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is $160,000 - $220,000 CAD. Okta offers equity, bonus, and benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance, RRSP with a match, and paid leave.
