## Description

Samsara is seeking a Senior Software Engineer II to join its Platform team. The team focuses on improving the efficiency of day-to-day workflows and helping users discover features and functionality across the Samsara dashboard.

The successful candidate will help shape the technical direction of the platform, including full-stack systems, shared patterns, and AI-powered product experiences. They will design and build end-to-end features that bring AI into real product workflows, spanning customer-facing experiences, backend services, and supporting infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include:

- Helping to shape the technical direction of the platform

- Designing and building end-to-end features with AI integration

- Scaling systems and foundations behind the web experience

- Standardizing patterns and raising the technical bar through code reviews and mentorship

- Partnering with engineering and product leadership on high-leverage bets

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

- 8+ years of software development experience with strong programming and design fundamentals

- 4+ years of experience working on large-scale distributed systems

- 4+ years of experience leading technical projects across multiple teams

Preferred qualifications:

- Experience building developer platforms, internal tooling, or CI/CD for a large engineering organization

- Experience shipping real work with AI coding tools

- Strong skills in Go, Python, TypeScript, or a similar language

- A track record of making engineers measurably faster

- Comfort working in ambiguity and aligning teams without formal authority
