## Description

As a Hardware Lab Technician at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, you will use your hardware knowledge to assist in qualification and troubleshooting expertise to enable the launch of new programs and resolution of issues in sustaining products.

**Responsibilities:**

- Prototype new hardware for proof of concept studies

- Benchmark and test new and current platforms and components

- Provide test and qualification reports and results in a timely manner

- Document detailed descriptions of failures and steps to reproduce them

- Manage bugs assigned in JIRA and provide timely updates

- Work with the extended engineering team to troubleshoot field returns

- Conduct Failure Analysis on Hewlett Packard Enterprise hardware appliances

- Conduct component-level troubleshooting, including at the PCBA level

- Collaborate with Hardware Engineers on failure analysis

- Work closely with the Quality team to provide guidance on failure modes

- Assist in the processing, disposition, and tracking of returned appliances

- Set up, test, and monitor systems in the reliability destructive testing (RDT) rack

- Load OS, firmware, and drivers onto platforms and/or components

- Assist cross-functional teams in troubleshooting systems when required

**Requirements:**

- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar environment supporting qualification and troubleshooting of X86 servers, storage appliances, and/or switches

- Proficient with soldering through-hole and SMT

- Hands-on role performed at Hewlett Packard Enterprise test laboratory

- Capable of reading MPI to understand system assembly process

- Able to read schematics and decipher circuit board layout

- Working knowledge of test and measurement equipment, troubleshooting, and electronic debugging

- Working knowledge of networking and system configuration

- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and database systems like Salesforce, Agile, and Xataface

- Familiarity with embedded x86, chipset, PCIe, SATA/NVMe, networking technologies, system architecture with hands-on troubleshooting/testing a plus

- Working knowledge of software troubleshooting (Linux environment) a plus

- Some mechanical knowledge a plus

- Effective written and oral communication

- Ability to lift 65lbs on a regular basis
