## Description

Axios is seeking a skilled reporter to cover Colorado Springs as part of its growing local news initiative.

The reporter will help local residents understand what's happening in their community, getting readers smarter, faster on the news, events, and local folkways that matter most to them.

Responsibilities include:

- Co-authoring a daily Axios newsletter with insights and scoops relevant to Colorado Springs

- Covering various aspects of life in the city

- Experimenting with and leveraging AI for reporting and newsletter production

- Writing in Axios' Smart Brevity style

- Contributing to building Axios Local and shaping its evolution

Requirements:

- Experience covering Colorado Springs

- Excellent sources and ability to create new ones

- Ability to break news and create conceptual scoops

- Omnivorous curiosity about the hometown

- Ideas and entrepreneurial spirit

- Comfort with flexing voice and personality in writing

- Proven experience working in a fast-paced news environment and on deadline
