## Description

We are seeking an Assistant Chef to join our team at The Donnington Care Home in Newbury. As an Assistant Chef, you will play a crucial role in delivering an excellent dining experience for our residents.

The Donnington Care Home provides round-the-clock support for a wide range of needs, including nursing or residential care, convalescence and respite, as well as palliative care support and help for adults with Parkinson’s.

As an Assistant Chef, you will:

- Create varied and nutritional menus in line with dietary needs and preferences of our residents

- Put forward ideas to deliver an excellent dining experience, helping our residents to feel at home

- Train and manage the kitchen team in prepping, cooking and serving of food

- Adhere to COSHH and HACCP guidelines, company policies and procedures, budgets, managing orders and deliveries

- Cater for special events or seasonal activities, such as summer fetes, Christmas parties and birthdays

To be successful in this role, you will need:

- A passion for cooking with previous experience working in a fresh food kitchen and relevant hygiene certificates

- An innovative approach to cooking whilst always adhering to high standards

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to share your love of food with our residents

The salary for this role is £14.09 to £15.59 per hour, depending on experience.
