## Description

We made history and now we work to transform the future – for our customers, our communities and our families. You'll see your work on the road every day, helping people move freely and pursue their dreams. At Ford, you can build more than vehicles. Come build what matters.

As part of our Manufacturing team, you’ll help build the world-class, state-of-the-art smart vehicles we're known for. In our plants around the world, we’re constantly developing new technologies and processes to further increase our efficiency. You'll get the satisfaction of making great products people use and love.

Define and deliver next-generation manufacturing processes in support of future-model vehicle programs. This job supports the engineering of stamping dies for Ford’s core sheet metal panels. You will be part of the manufacturing co-creation team to build world-class vehicles using cutting-edge technology.

Responsibilities:

- Define and deliver next-generation manufacturing processes in support of future-model vehicle programs. This job supports the engineering of stamping dies for Ford’s core sheet metal panels.

- Conduct early stamping process feasibility in an integrated CAD/CAE environment.

- Lead the creation of draw die CAD developments and construction release files for new model stampings.

- Update and maintain existing stamping die process information.

- Develop stamping die processes for new model parts, optimized for cost and quality, while meeting timing to achieve company objectives.

- Perform simulations of stamping processes for comprehensive formability evaluation.

- Optimise stamping processes through draw and line die simulations.

- Interface with Design and Release activities.

- Provide feedback to product design to correct stamping concerns through the launch of production.

- Support die design and tooling construction problem resolution.

- Domestic Travel Required up to 10%.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Material Science or a related field and/or 4-6 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

- Expertise in sheet metal forming to engineer and validate automotive Class-A/B closure panels, ensuring surface quality, manufacturability and structural integrity during die process development.

- Strong CAD skills using CATIA V5, 3DX to create draw development and binder geometry for stamping dies, supporting accurate tooling design and process planning.

- Autoform (or similar) software expertise to simulate and analyze sheet metal forming processes, identifying potential formability issues and optimising die designs for production feasibility.

- Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to interpret and validate design specifications for sheet metal components, ensuring compliance with dimensional and functional requirements.

- In-depth knowledge of designing and implementing die processes for stamping sheet metal parts using large and extra-large presses, optimising for material flow, press capability, and production efficiency.

- Good troubleshooting skills to find root cause of die process issues.

- Microsoft Office experience to include PowerPoint, Outlook Excel and Word.

- Up to 10% of local travel.

Preferred qualifications:

- Teamcenter Engineering expertise.

- Die tryout and/or launch experience.

- Six Sigma certification.

If you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!
