## Description

Cricut is a company that enables people to create and customize various items. As a Lead Software Engineer (API/Agentic), you will spend most of your time writing, reviewing, and shipping production backend code.

You will use agentic coding tools as a core part of your daily workflow, including AI-assisted code review, automated test generation, and AI-augmented development, while maintaining code quality, security, and human oversight.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Designing and building APIs and services end-to-end

- Contributing to backend architecture across C#/.NET and Python services

- Defining clear, versioned API contracts

- Working closely with Product Management, UX, and client engineers

- Optimizing service performance and scalability

- Writing and maintaining automated tests

- Driving CI/CD automation and release quality

- Shipping behind feature flags with progressive rollout

- Owning service health through observability

- Participating in code reviews and sharing knowledge with other engineers

- Evaluating new backend, cloud, AI, and tooling technologies

Requirements:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

- 8+ years of professional backend software development experience

- Deep expertise in either C#/.NET (ASP.NET Core) or Python (FastAPI/Django)

- Experience designing and running backend architectures at scale

- Strong API design skills using REST

- Strong experience with relational and NoSQL data stores

- Understanding of concurrency models in primary language

- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, containers, and orchestration

- Practical use of modern AI engineering tools

- Experience with architectural patterns such as Clean Architecture and Domain-Driven Design

- Strong debugging, profiling, and performance optimization skills
