## Description

We are seeking an experienced Firmware Engineer to develop low-level embedded software and build tests that verify it works.

You'll update requirements, write the code, and write tests to prove the code.

## Responsibilities

- Develop low-level firmware in C for microcontrollers across multiple product platforms

- Design, develop, and document test procedures that verify firmware behavior against requirements

- Debug and troubleshoot issues that span electrical, firmware, and software boundaries

- Support board bring-up and hardware-firmware integration alongside cross-functional teams

- Maintain requirements traceability to ensure every requirement has a corresponding test

- Concurrently manage involvement in multiple projects at various stages from prototype through production

## Requirements

- BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience

- 4+ years of firmware/embedded software development experience

- Strong C coding ability for embedded systems

- Hands-on experience developing and executing test procedures for embedded firmware

- Solid understanding of coding best practices, board bring-up, and debugging

- Experience with common bus protocols (SPI, I2C, CAN, RS232, RS485, Ethernet)

- Familiarity with requirements generation and linking requirements to verification tests

- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills

- Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities

## Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with one or more microcontroller cores (ARM, AVR, MSP430, PIC, etc.)

- Experience developing firmware for high-reliability or safety-critical applications

- Experience building automated test frameworks or test harnesses for embedded systems

- Understanding of requirements management tools (e.g., Jama, DOORS)

- Comfortable with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for test automation

- Experience as the firmware technical lead on fast-paced, cross-functional projects
