Data is at the center of everything Capital One does. As a Director of Data Science, you'll lead the next wave of disruption using AI and machine learning technologies across billions of customer records.

About the Team: We're building a portfolio of agentic AI products to transform Capital One's engineering organizations and lines of business. As a scientist on the team, you'd design AI/ML models and help build the solutions behind these products.

Responsibilities:

- Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver enterprise products

- Leverage technologies like Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, Spark to reveal insights in huge volumes of data

- Build machine learning models through all phases of development

- Translate complex work into tangible business goals

The Ideal Candidate is:

- Customer-focused, innovative, creative, a leader, technical, statistically-minded, and a data guru

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science)

- 9+ years of experience performing data analytics

- 4+ years of experience leveraging open-source programming languages for large-scale data analysis

- 4+ years of experience building/deploying AI/ML models in production

- 4+ years of experience designing and analyzing A/B tests

Preferred Qualifications:

- PhD in STEM field

- Experience working with AWS, Python, Scala, R, Spark

- New York, NY: $293,600 - $335,100

- Richmond, VA: $244,700 - $279,200

- San Francisco, CA: $293,600 - $335,100
