## Description

An exciting opportunity for an experienced R&D professional with strong background in synthetic organic chemistry to work on designing and synthesizing novel specialty components at Valvoline Global Operations, an affiliate of Aramco.

**Job Purpose** Design and synthesize novel specialty components as a Research Scientist.

**How You Make an Impact (Job Accountabilities)**

- Design and synthesis, scale of novel organic specialty molecules

- Develop and optimize synthetic processes through route development and process development

- Identify opportunities for patents and IP creation

- Maintain accurate experiment records, observations and results in the lab notebooks

- Support internal customer, competitive benchmarking of the products

- Maintain compliance with EHS, quality and documentation standards

- Interpret complex analytical data (NMR, LCMS, GCMS, FTIR) to confirm the identity of components

**What You Bring to the Role (Job Qualifications / Education / Skills / Requirements / Capabilities)**

- PhD, in organic chemistry, 1-2 years of industrial experience with lubricant background preferable but not necessary or MS with min 7 years of industrial experience

**Competencies Desired**

- Know-how of Synthetic chemistry

- Knowledge of Spectroscopic methods like GC/LCMS/NMR/FTIR

- Knowledge of Lubricant chemistry is preferred but not necessary

- Good communication, preparing laboratory reports, good interpersonal skills
