## Description

Priory Hospital Middleton St George, located in Darlington, County Durham, is a specialist inpatient service for adults with mental health issues, complex needs, and behaviours that challenge. The hospital is set in spacious and relaxing grounds and is dedicated to supporting people to transfer effortlessly between the most appropriate care, meeting individual needs, enabling recovery and re-engagement within the community, and maximising life opportunities.

As Hospital Director, you will be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the hospital and to support the wellbeing of patients. Your role involves leading and managing the Hospital Senior Management team (SMT) across all aspects of day-to-day business deliverables, monitoring performance in relation to quality performance indicators (QPIs), and performance managing sites where improvement is required.

Key responsibilities include:

- Accountability for the hospital and its commercial performance.

- Leading and managing the Hospital Senior Management team (SMT).

- Maintaining oversight and leading on the management of clinical risk at the site.

- Ensuring the service performs to agreed targets for business planning, financial performance, and quality and care standards.

Essential skills and experience for the role include:

- Proven senior leadership experience within a healthcare setting.

- Strong understanding of clinical governance, safeguarding, and regulatory requirements.

- Experience managing teams, budgets, and operational performance.

- Strong communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.

- Ability to drive high standards of patient care, quality, and safety.

- Experience working collaboratively with clinical and corporate teams.

Beneficial experience includes:

- Previous experience as a Hospital Director, Registered Manager, or equivalent senior healthcare leadership role.

- Experience within mental health, learning disability, or specialist healthcare services.

- Experience working with CQC and other healthcare regulators.

- Experience leading service improvement and quality initiatives.

- Experience managing complex services and supporting organisational change.
