## Description

As a Manager, Data Science - Emerging ML at Capital One, you will lead the next wave of disruption using the latest computing and machine learning technologies across billions of customer records.

**Team Description** The Emerging ML team focuses on research and development of new AI technologies, particularly in Embeddings and Foundation Models, partnering with product and engineering teams.

**Key Responsibilities**

- Conduct research into self-supervised learning, transformer models, and representation learning.

- Build customer behavioral models to identify trends and patterns.

- Refine integration patterns for encoder and decoder models.

- Develop machine learning models through all phases of development.

- Partner with business and product teams to guide improvements.

- Write software to collect, explore, visualize, and analyze data using tools like Spark and AWS.

**Requirements**

- Quantitative field degree (e.g., Statistics, Economics, Computer Science) with relevant experience.

- Experience with open-source programming languages, machine learning, and relational databases.

**Ideal Candidate**

- Hands-on experience with data science solutions using open-source tools and cloud computing.

- Statistically-minded with model building and validation experience.
