## Description

The Cisco Product Operations team is looking for a motivated and experienced Mechanical Engineer to provide mechanical product engineering support for new and sustaining products.

You will be responsible for products cost and quality from New Product Introduction (NPI) to End of Life (EOL).

Key responsibilities include:

- Providing new product introduction support for on-going engineering from pre-concept through EOL

- Collaborating with stakeholders in development of processes and technology to support new product development

- BOM structuring and BOM risk Management

- Collaborating with design teams for Dfx issues and ensuring they are resolved prior to product release

- Driving and participating in design and manufacturing FMEA

- Providing leadership in driving product quality issues in NPI and sustaining

- Value engineering and cost avoidance

- Assessing CM and supply chain technical capability gaps

- Crafting, analyzing, and releasing product documentation and relevant Change management activities

- Technical lifecycle management

- Leadership and direction of complex issue resolution

Minimum qualifications:

- BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent plus 5-10 years related experience; Master’s preferred

- Strong understanding of design concepts and engineering development practices

- Comprehensive knowledge of various CREA and CAD tools, manufacturing processes and tolerances, and trouble-shooting failing systems

- Proven ability to work in a team setting and multi-task

- Outstanding written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills

Preferred qualifications:

- Experience working with contract manufacturers for complex electronic products

- Deep understanding of sheet metal fabrication, thermal fabrication, and PCBA assembly process and technology

- Experience working on a switch/router product
