## Description

We are seeking a Pathology Coordinator to join our team at Runnymede Hospital in Chertsey.

This is a bank role working on an 'as and when required' basis, where you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

- Overseeing the day-to-day coordination of pathology services, ensuring timely and accurate processing of diagnostic tests

- Liaising with internal departments and external laboratories to manage test requests, collections, and result reporting

- Acting as the first point of contact for pathology-related queries from clinical staff, consultants, and laboratory providers

- Ensuring adherence to sample handling protocols, infection prevention standards, and relevant health and safety procedures

- Using pathology IT systems and hospital records platforms to enter, retrieve, and monitor test requests and results

- Monitoring stock levels of sample kits, pathology consumables, and courier supplies, reordering as needed

- Contributing to service improvement initiatives, helping streamline processes and enhance patient safety

To be considered for this role, you should have:

- Previous experience in a healthcare, laboratory, or diagnostic services environment

- Strong organisational and administrative skills, with attention to detail

- Effective communication skills and ability to liaise with clinical and non-clinical colleagues

- Basic understanding of medical terminology and diagnostic processes

- Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage time effectively
