## Description

IOM is seeking a Migration Health Physician to work at the Migration Health Assessment Centre (MHAC) in Pretoria, South Africa.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient daily operations of the MHAC, conducting migration health assessments, and providing medical care to refugees and migrants.

Key responsibilities include:

- Conducting medical examinations, imaging, laboratory testing, vaccinations, and TB management

- Providing treatment and referrals for patients

- Ensuring proper identification and recording of health information for refugees and migrants

- Performing treatment for TB and sexually transmitted infections

- Contributing to oversight and coordination of immunization and presumptive treatment programs

- Analyzing data and reporting on performance indicators

- Implementing global IOM Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and creating Pretoria MHAC specific SOPs

Requirements:

- University degree in medicine from an accredited academic institution

- At least four years of professional work experience

- Valid license to practice in South Africa

- Professional continuous clinical experience, preferably in a multidisciplinary hospital setting

- Good knowledge of clinical medicine and excellent bedside manner

- Knowledge of patient safety and infection prevention and control

Desirable qualifications and experience:

- Post-graduate diploma/degree in clinical specialization in fields such as pediatrics, pulmonology, or emergency medicine

- Experience in public health, health care administration, or healthcare management

- Master trainer experience

Languages:

- Fluency in English (oral and written)

- Working knowledge of one local language (mandatory)

IOM offers a fixed-term contract for one year with the possibility of extension.
