## Description

We are seeking a Senior/Associate Electrical Engineer to join our team in Cape Town or Midrand. In this role, you will provide consulting engineering services and design for MV & LV, Earthing, Power and Lighting, Single Line Diagrams, Reticulation, Generators, UPS, Fire Detection and Alarms, as well as experience in Data, CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Alarms, and Building Management.

**Responsibilities:**

- Prepare accurate and concise designs, design calculations, budgets, tender specification creation, and perform project financial control and construction monitoring and project management (electrical) throughout all stages of a project life cycle.

- Collaborate and work with multi-disciplinary teams of engineers on a project while taking an active part in the design process and co-ordination.

- Complete all types of projects from inception to close-out with limited input from management and/or other senior engineers.

- Focus on client care and professional team management including on-time delivery.

- Marketing, including attendance at business-related networking and client functions.

- Set up client/consultant fee/contract agreements, calculate professional fees, and manage professional fees on all projects.

- Manage internal office project finances regarding hourly forecasting, WIP, and invoicing.

**Requirements:**

- Minimum BSc Eng. or B. Tech in Electrical Engineering.

- Professional Registration with ECSA advantageous.

- At least 7 years of consulting engineering experience within the Building Services and/or industrial environment.

- SAQCC Registration highly advantageous.

**Key Competencies and Generic Skills:**

- Good to excellent communication skills (English) and report writing abilities.

- Good knowledge of SANS10142-1&2, SANS10400, and SANS204 among others.

- Good knowledge of various building contracts applicable to the building services industry.

- Good knowledge of MV and LV reticulation designs.

- Good knowledge of standby power systems, renewable energy installations, and electrical software packages such as Relux, Dialux, CBi, Ecodial, and ETAP.

- Higher than average Microsoft Office package skills.

- Ability to work independently, take responsibility/ownership for designs, and follow up from senior management/engineers.

- High-level quality attention to detail when performing design reviews.

- Good self and project time-management skills.

- Self-motivated and ambitious.

- Ability to offer creative solutions to client, architectural, and/or interior design requirements.

- Ability to interface professionally across all levels of the professional team and with the client.

- Drivers license and own mode of transport to travel to sites.

- Willingness and ability to travel within RSA and Africa.
