## Description

Leidos Defense is seeking a Systems Engineer to join the IFPC Inc 2 systems engineering team. The IFPC Inc 2 is a ground-based, mobile system that aims to combat cruise missiles and unmanned aircraft systems.

The Systems Engineer will be responsible for:

- Developing and managing the IFPC verification process and strategy

- Standing up a verification review board

- Owning system-level DVOs and VCNs

- Reviewing and approving DVOs and VCNs at the subsystem and below level, including software

- Presenting metrics and status to SE lead and leadership weekly

- Planning verification priorities and managing a verification burndown against multiple configurations

- Ensuring requirements are verifiable

- Managing the linkages between verification artifacts and requirements

- Working to define success criteria

- Addressing verification gaps

- Mentoring the team in writing good verification artifacts

The ideal candidate will have:

- A Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university with 8+ years of experience, or an MS with 6+ years

- Experience in deriving requirements for complex electrical, electro-mechanical, mechanical, and software systems

- Demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment

- Resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area

- US Citizenship is required with active secret clearance or ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance

Preferred qualifications include:

- A Master of Science in System Engineering from an ABET-accredited university

- Direct systems engineering experience

- Experience with MagicDraw and/or other Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) modeling tools

- Demonstrated experience effectively leading a team of engineers

- Understanding of the DoD acquisition processes and methods

- Experience supporting one or more DoD programs
