## Description

We are seeking a motivated Commercial Underwriter to join our Small Business Lending Operations team. In this role, you will support small business borrowers and be a key player in a high-performing team.

Responsibilities:

- Underwrite and review loans up to $10MM

- Make decisions on new loan requests, renewals, and credit assessments within your commercial loan authority

- Provide excellent service to business bankers and internal partners

- Collaborate with Small Business Bankers to structure loan requests that meet Capital One policy and borrower needs

- Deliver a great customer experience, working with Business Loan Advocates

- Recommend commercial loan risk ratings as part of the underwriting process

- Ensure adherence to bank and line of business policies and procedures

- Identify and deliver improvements in Small Business policy, underwriting, and risk management

- Contribute to department training and growth

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience

- At least 4 years of experience in credit administration, small business underwriting, commercial loan underwriting, or commercial lending

Preferred Qualifications:

- 5+ years of experience in credit administration, small business underwriting, commercial loan underwriting, or commercial lending

- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting

- Completion of a formal credit training

The salary range for this role in Plano, TX is $138,100 - $157,700 per year. This role is also eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation, including cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives.
