## Description

The Service Manager - Fleet will have overall operational responsibility for key functions within Transport Services, ensuring the effective and compliant delivery of vehicle maintenance, fleet management and MOT testing services.

You will oversee the day-to-day operation of the service, ensuring high standards of performance and compliance across all areas, including Operator Licensing, the MOT station, vehicle maintenance and workshop operations, stores and fleet management activities.

You will play a key role in ensuring the Council meets its statutory and regulatory obligations while maintaining high standards of health, safety and wellbeing. You will also ensure services are delivered efficiently and cost-effectively, supporting the Council’s strategic and corporate objectives.

The successful candidate will hold a current Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) in Road Haulage operations and hold City and Guilds (or equivalent) qualification(s) in motor vehicle technology.

You will have experience in managing the technical, legal and commercial aspects of operating a mixed fleet of municipal vehicles including HGVs, LGVs and ancillary equipment, including managing the Operator Licence.
