## Job Overview

As a Specialist Export Control at Helsing, you will play a critical role in ensuring regulatory compliance and operational execution. You will be responsible for managing daily export control operations, including licensing, releases, screening, and customs interface.

## Key Responsibilities

- Manage end-to-end BAFA licensing for exports, transfers, and tech data

- Clear shipments, services, and software releases

- Execute and document EU, UN, OFAC, and UK list screenings

- Ensure export control classifications in the ERP match product reality

- Align with logistics and brokers on ATLAS filings, proofs of origin, and Carnets

- Guide internal stakeholders and maintain an audit-proof record of compliance decisions

- Build licensing architectures for new programs, consortia, and sites

- Drive the implementation and optimization of export control tools

- Upgrade internal processes and control mechanisms to meet BAFA ICP requirements

- Lead internal checks, support external audits, and establish KPIs

- Design and roll out practical compliance trainings

## Requirements

- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in operational export control

- Proven track record of independently leading projects

- Deep understanding of BAFA & EU regulatory frameworks

- Practical experience with ERP or export control software

- Ability to thrive under real-time pressure

- Professional fluency in both written and spoken German and English

- Willingness to undergo a national security clearance check

## Nice to Have

- Knowledge of ITAR/EAR and US (re-)export regulations

- Practical knowledge of customs law and AEO experience

- Relevant certifications such as ECoP or Certified Export Control Specialist

- Strong affinity for data and tooling
