## Description

We are seeking a Technical Director to join our Mining and Metals business in the UK&I, focusing on mine waste projects domestically and internationally.

This leadership role involves technical leadership, project direction, business development, and client liaison for the UK and Ireland Mine Waste team, as well as globally.

Key responsibilities include:

- Delivering consulting services for mine waste projects, including design and inspection of mine waste storage facilities, construction of tailings deposits, stability and seepage analysis, and closure design.

- Working with a diverse team of engineers, scientists, and modellers from conceptual design through to detail design and engineering.

- Providing specialised technical input on tailings management facilities, water impoundments, waste rock dump design, soil mechanics, and related civil engineering work.

- Leading and inputting into the design and assessment of mine waste facilities from concept to operational and closure phases.

- Assisting project managers in project delivery, including time, budget, and quality control.

- Leading, mentoring, and working with a team of scientists, engineers, and other professionals.

- Preparing technical reports, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.

- Providing technical direction and supervising junior and intermediate staff.

- Participating in global corporate technical practice groups.

- Travelling within Ireland and internationally for client projects.

- Developing and maintaining client relationships.

Requirements include:

- Demonstrated experience of technical leadership and delivery.

- Substantial experience in mine waste and tailings.

- Commitment to internal and external client service.

- Proven track record in delivering large, multi-disciplinary projects.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

- Degree qualified in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, or engineering geology.

- Knowledge of national and international design guidelines and regulations.

- Mining and geotechnical experience related to mine waste disposal.

- Ability to interpret and monitor results and use various tools.

- Chartered professional with a relevant body.

- Willingness to travel in the UK and internationally.
