## Description

We are seeking a Damper Assembly Technician to join our team at Multimatic in Newmarket, Ontario.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the assembly of dampers and suspension modules, testing new and existing damper designs, and validating product assembly to ensure it meets performance specifications.

Key responsibilities include:

- Assembly of dampers and suspension modules

- Testing new and existing damper designs

- Validation of product assembly

- Ensuring products meet performance specifications

- Conducting product tear-down and analysis, and functional tests on Dynos

- Advising the APQP team on design and DFMEA issues

- Providing value improvement suggestions

- Interacting with tooling and process engineering to ensure cost-effective manufacturing

- Generating technical reports and product performance sheets

- Continuously developing designs to reduce manufacturing costs

- Analyzing failed dampers from dyno operations

- Disassembling failed dampers

- Conducting root cause analysis of failure modes and effects

- Completing tear-down paperwork

- Reworking production failures

- Assisting in assembly investigations

- Providing input into DFMEA and PFMEA teams

- Maintaining a clean and organized work area

- Following departmental and general procedures

- Performing other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate will have:

- A 2- or 3-year college diploma in Mechanical or Electromechanical Engineering

- Strong mechanical aptitude and mathematical knowledge

- Working knowledge of computer design software

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints

- Strong understanding of instrumentation and tolerancing

- Proficiency in using basic hand tools safely

- Excellent communication skills

- Good understanding of health and safety

- Ability to work independently or as part of a team

- Strong knowledge of damper assembly and components

- Fluency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power BI)

- Strong organizational skills

- Ability to travel domestically and internationally

The total cash compensation range for this position is $20.50 - $30.59 per hour.
