## Description

At Bayer, we're seeking a Staff Engineer, Electromechanical Design to join our team in Pittsburgh, PA. As a key member of our Device Automation Capabilities team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing system test solutions for complex electromechanical assemblies and combination products.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement system test solutions for complex electromechanical assemblies and combination products

- Stay ahead of emerging technologies and methodologies to enhance our manufacturing capabilities

- Review and analyze system specifications

- Spearhead the development of next-generation test equipment fixtures and processes

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, external partners, and manufacturing sites to deliver projects on time and within budget

- Mentor junior engineers and promote Design for Excellence (DfX) initiatives

- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards

Requirements:

- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

- Industry experience in the medical device sector (or other heavily regulated industry)

- Knowledge of best practices in software development lifecycle with proven ability in multiple languages

- Familiarity with MCAD and ECAD tools

- Proficient in statistical analysis and the use of statistical tools to interpret data, identify trends, and implement solutions that enhance accuracy and efficiency in systems testing

- Proven track record of leading and mentoring teams

Preferred Qualifications:

- At least 4 years of relevant industry experience in the medical device sector (or other heavily regulated industry)

- Experience developing dashboards in an informatics tool such as Power BI or Tableau

This position will be available for application until at least 4/27/2026. Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $112,400.00 - $168,600.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.
