## Description

Southwark Council is seeking a Supported Lettings Procurement Officer to join the Housing Needs service. As a Supported Lettings Procurement Officer, you will identify and procure suitable private rented properties for people who have slept rough or are at risk of homelessness.

You will develop strong relationships with landlords, letting agents and other private sector suppliers, promote the benefits of working with the council and negotiate opportunities that meet residents’ needs. You will inspect properties to ensure they meet the required housing and safety standards and advise landlords and prospective tenants on available schemes, welfare benefits and Local Housing Allowance.

You will also work closely with residents, council teams and partner organisations to secure sustainable housing solutions and provide focused support to help residents maintain their accommodation.

The role requires experience of the private rented sector, including procuring and inspecting properties and negotiating effectively with landlords. You will understand the housing challenges facing people who have experienced rough sleeping and have knowledge of welfare benefits, private rented tenancies and relevant health and safety requirements.

The salary for this role is GBP 44,331 - 50,778 per year.
