## Description

Deliveroo, now part of DoorDash, is seeking a Backend Engineer to join the Agent Experience team. This role involves building and maintaining AI-powered backend services for agent-assist tooling on the Astra support surface.

## About the Team

The Agent Experience team develops backend services that enable agent-assist features on Astra, leveraging LLMs to help support agents resolve customer, merchant, and Dasher issues efficiently.

## Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain backend services for agent-assist features on Astra, working independently on feature-level projects.

- Translate requirements into functional code, designing approaches, writing RFCs for significant changes, and implementing solutions end-to-end.

- Integrate with LLM-backed features, handling prompt and completion calls, provider responses, and output validation.

- Manage project tasks, estimate effort, track progress, and maintain dependencies.

- Apply AI tooling judiciously to your workflow, critically evaluating its output.

- Engage in code reviews, ensuring high standards for correctness, quality, and compliance.

- Collaborate with senior engineers and partner teams to clarify problems, unblock progress, and identify risks.

## Requirements

- Strong backend engineering skills in Go, with experience in shipping and maintaining production services.

- Familiarity with LLM-powered features in production is advantageous.

- Ability to own feature-level work independently, from requirements to deployed code.

- Comfort working with multiple chat and support surfaces, tracing issues accurately.

- Clear technical writing skills for RFCs and sound judgment on when to seek help.

- 2–4 years of backend engineering experience, with a track record of growing ownership and scope.
