## Description

The Staff Accountant position at Georgia Power Company involves supporting accounting and reporting activities. The successful candidate will work on a team responsible for preparing documents for internal and external reporting objectives, including SEC and FERC forms, cash flow statements, and related disclosures.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Prepare and review financial statements, journals, and account reconciliations to ensure accurate and timely month-end closing.

- Coordinate preparation and filing of FERC forms.

- Support preparation of SEC Forms 10-Q and 10-K.

- Analyze general ledger data trends to support variance conclusions.

- Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.

- Assist with management of the monthly close process.

**Requirements:**

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent.

- 4+ years of experience in accounting.

- Proficiency in U.S. GAAP.

- Knowledge of preparing or auditing cash flow statements.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

- Master's degree and/or CPA.

- Experience in public accounting, technical accounting research, FERC accounting, and financial reporting.

- Familiarity with Oracle Cloud ERP and Workiva.
