## Description

Toast is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to lead their Enterprise Sports & Entertainment team. You will work across the entire Toast platform, including POS, backend, and front-end systems. As a member of the Enterprise Sports & Entertainment team, you will help deliver key features for Sports & Entertainment and hospitality customers, directly impacting Toast's success.

Responsibilities:

- Design, build, deploy, and maintain highly resilient and scalable features across Toast's Sports & Entertainment product offerings

- Lead complex projects to improve functionality and reliability for customers

- Partner with various teams across Toast

- Ensure quality by building automated testing for changes

- Roll out features to customers, monitoring for success

- Partner with Design and Product on feature definition and design

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Customer Success, Solutions, Sales, Care, and Onboarding

- Mentor and coach other engineers

- Leverage cutting-edge AI tools to enhance development workflow and pioneer new approaches

Requirements:

- 8+ years of experience building backend services and APIs

- Extensive experience with Object-Oriented Languages like Java or Kotlin

- Deep understanding of testing, quality, and best practices

- Experience shipping production services, balancing speed with platform stability and reliability

- Experience building backend services, APIs, and scaling distributed systems

- Experience with Kotlin for Android applications (a plus)

- Experience with front-end applications (a plus)

- Focus on delivering positive impact for Toast customers

- Excellent cross-team communication skills

The base salary range for this role is $193,000-$309,000 USD, $168,000-$269,000 USD, or $151,000-$242,000 USD, depending on the geographic location.
