## Description

KIPP SoCal Public Schools is seeking an In-House Substitute to join their team at KIPP Adelante in San Diego. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting grade levels 5th-8th.

**Job Summary** As an In-House Substitute, you will follow classroom teachers' lesson plans or create lesson plans when needed to ensure consistency and optimal learning. You will encourage students to actively participate, maintain a well-managed classroom, and supervise students out of class.

**Key Responsibilities**

- Follow classroom teacher's lesson plans or create lesson plans when needed

- Assign classwork and homework as necessary

- Maintain a well-managed classroom and positive learning environment

- Supervise students out of class

- Teach knowledge and skills, nurture confidence and character, and inspire passion in students

- Design and implement small group instruction when not acting as a daily or long-term substitute

- Utilize various instructional strategies based on diverse student needs

- Analyze informal and formal student assessment results to inform instruction

- Communicate and collaborate professionally with teammates, parents, and community members

**Requirements**

- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning

- Preliminary or Clear California credential preferred

- 30-day Substitute Teacher Permit required

- Flexibility, strong work ethic, and entrepreneurial spirit

- Demonstrated ability to work well with others and build relationships
