## Description

We are seeking an experienced privacy attorney to join our Legal team as Privacy Senior Counsel. As a key partner to our HR and Recruiting teams, you will provide dedicated privacy counsel on a wide range of workforce and talent acquisition matters.

In this role, you will advise the HR and Recruiting teams on privacy requirements applicable to the collection, use, and retention of employee and candidate personal data, including background check data, assessment results, and hiring records.

You will review and negotiate vendor contracts and data processing agreements (DPAs) with HR technology vendors, background screening providers, recruiting platforms, and other third-party processors handling workforce data.

You will counsel on privacy considerations related to AI-assisted recruiting tools, applicant tracking systems, automated decision-making, and workforce analytics, including obligations under emerging algorithmic transparency and automated decision laws.

You will track legal developments in employment privacy, including U.S. state laws and international regulations affecting the HR and recruiting lifecycle, and translate those developments into practical guidance.

As the program evolves, you will grow into broader privacy and data governance responsibilities.

To succeed in this role, you will need a J.D. degree with a record of strong academic performance, 5+ years of privacy law experience, and a license to practice law in California.

You will also need exceptional communication and organizational skills, including writing, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams effectively.

A practical, business-minded approach to legal risk, with the ability to provide clear, actionable guidance, is essential.

Direct experience advising HR, People Operations, or Recruiting teams on privacy compliance in a global technology company or a practice group focused on employment or privacy law is highly valued.

Familiarity with AI-driven recruiting tools and the emerging legal landscape around automated employment decision-making is also beneficial.

You will have a CIPP/US, CIPP/E, or similar privacy certification.

Experience working cross-functionally with HR, Legal, and IT teams to develop practical, scalable data governance processes is highly regarded.

A passion for continuous learning and an enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment are essential.

You will be eligible for equity and benefits.
