As a RN Clinical Nurse II in the Surgical Observation Unit, you will provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards. You will report to the Nurse Manager/Director and be responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting. Responsibilities: - Participate in identifying and meeting learning needs of self and attend education programs based on identified learning needs - Assess readiness to learn of patients/families/caregivers and use patient education materials relevant to the patient population - Identify expected patient outcomes and seek guidance as needed in revision of plan of care - Participate in discussion with members of the interdisciplinary team in evaluation of patient care and communicate relevant information to promote continuity of care - Demonstrate competence in care of patients with complex problems, including population-appropriate physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects of care - Perform bedside point of care testing as required for patient care plan - Utilize healthcare organization and nursing standards, policies, and procedures in delivery of care - Organize and prioritize care according to patient/family needs - Consult with appropriate resources in a timely fashion regarding patients with complex care issues - Develop goals to promote professional growth or minimize limitations - Achieve goals and objectives within identified time frame or renegotiate with supervisor - Participate in development and achievement of unit goals and performance improvement activities - Effectively use communication systems and participate in promoting cost-effective care Requirements: - Graduation from a school of professional nursing - Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification - One (1) year of nursing experience Benefits: - Extensive benefit and retirement package - 36 hours/week with self-scheduling ## Skills ### Required - Registered Nurse - BLS certification - nursing care - patient assessment - care planning --- Source: [Apply at jobs.unchealthcare.org](https://jobs.unchealthcare.org/jobs/18255297-rn-clinical-nurse-ii-surgical-observation-unit?utm_source=yubhub.co&utm_medium=jobs_feed&utm_campaign=apply)
