As an Assets Protection Specialist, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our guests and team members. The starting pay range for this position per hour is $23.75 - $25.75. The full pay range for this position per hour is $23.75 - $40.40. **Responsibilities:** - Create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience by delivering on the following commitments: - Greet guests, smile, make eye contact, or wave - Help guests find what they need and/or resolve issues to ensure a smooth, easy shopping experience - End every guest transaction with a sincere thank you - Actively support team efforts and assist peers in other areas while maintaining a positive and respectful attitude - Adjust to business and guest needs to deliver an easy and inspiring guest experience - Support total store sales, guest service and increase profitability by ensuring product is in stock and available to our guests by preventing and resolving theft - Resolve theft by using good judgement and conducting apprehensions in shortage focus areas while strictly adhering to AP policies and procedures - Identify theft trends by leveraging technology, reporting and surveillance tactics - Prevent theft by gathering intelligence and communicating important issues - Understand and appropriately use video systems to monitor theft activity - Respond to security incidents and submit appropriate documentation for all incidents following AP policy and procedures - Promote a physical security and safety culture for our team members and guests by creating awareness and training safe and secure standards throughout the building - Demonstrate inclusivity by valuing diverse voices and approaches, being authentic and respectful, and creating equitable experiences - Work in a safe manner at all times; comply with all safety policies, best practices, and training; report hazards and correct where possible - Maintain positive work relationships with public safety officials and law enforcement - Participate in legal proceedings as necessary to represent Target’s interests **Requirements:** - Must be at least 18 years of age or older - High school diploma or equivalent - Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position - Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members - Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed - Effective communication skills - Work both independently and with a team - Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently - Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes **Physical Demands:** - Climb up and down ladders - Apprehend subjects in accordance with company policy - Scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 40 pounds without additional assistance from others - Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays); come to work when scheduled, work scheduled shifts and take required meal and rest breaks - Although the role is full-time, it does not come with a guarantee of 40 hours each week.
