## Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Senior Design Engineer to join our team at American Honda Motor Company in Haw River, North Carolina. As a Mechanical Senior Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in guiding new technologies and mass production developments by generating new technical ideas and maturing concept designs and drawings to meet established specifications and guidelines.

**Job Purpose** Guide new technologies and mass production developments by generating new technical ideas and maturing concept designs and drawings to meet the established specification and guidelines with the key purpose of maintaining Honda's high quality and customer's satisfaction in mainly, but not limited to, the Power Products category.

**Key Accountabilities**

- Work independently with minimal support from upper-level associates utilizing key tools to generate high-level drawings representing key technologies that meet the specification targets

- Facilitate prototype generation, engineering estimates, supplier negotiations, factory assembly confirmations, and finally mass production specification setting

- Support on-site activities such as prototype builds and collaboration with research members to understand test-related concerns and implement countermeasures to design

- Drive or establish small project teams through Project Leader Role to meet the targets and schedule of the development

- Drive or establish bill of materials to track impacts of new technologies, features, and components

- Drive and develop basic ideas to improve Honda competitiveness by product features and technologies, or by factory or development efficiency with minimal supervision

- Support or drive market quality and VA themes with minimal supervision

**Qualifications, Experience, and Skills**

- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a related field

- 2+ years of engineering experience, preferably in Power Products or Powersports

- Strong ability to guide small development teams

- Ability to interact/communicate effectively with staff/management

- Must be able to operate with a high level of confidentiality

- Competent in FTA, FMEA, dimensional tolerance stack-ups, and application

- Competent analytical, problem-solving, judgement, decision-making, and prioritization skills

- Competent drawing and layout skills/techniques, including understanding of CAE principles

- Competent in creating a plan and schedule

- Competent in understanding product development schedules
