## Description

Discord's Safety ML team builds machine learning systems to protect over 200 million users. We're seeking a technical, hands-on Engineering Manager to lead the team.

As the manager, you will own detection systems that safeguard users from harm. Responsibilities include:

- Building and leading a team of ML engineers

- Driving the technical vision and roadmap for Safety ML

- Managing the end-to-end lifecycle of production safety models

- Collaborating with Trust & Safety, Product, Policy, Legal, and Data Science teams

- Partnering with other Engineering Managers to improve the Engineering organization

Requirements:

- 5+ years of experience as a Machine Learning Engineer, Data Scientist, or Applied Scientist

- 3+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager, managing a team of 5+ engineers

- Hands-on expertise in areas such as abuse/fraud detection, content classification, or behavioral modeling

- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

- Experience shipping ML systems to production at scale

- Passion for coaching and leading engineers

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $272,000 to $306,000 + equity + benefits.
