## Description

IOM invites applications for the Chief of Mission (CoM) position, responsible for overseeing activities in multiple duty stations. The CoM sets the strategic direction for the Country Strategy, ensuring institutional alignment and translating IOM's global priorities into a coherent country-level vision.

The successful candidate will provide policy, administrative, programmatic, and financial support to the Country Office, serving as IOM's senior representative to host-government counterparts, diplomatic missions, and international institutions.

Key responsibilities include:

- Strategic Leadership & Country Vision: Setting the strategic direction for the Country Strategy

- Representation, Government & Political Engagement: Engaging with host governments, civil society, and international institutions

- Programme Oversight & Accountability: Directing and monitoring programme design, implementation, and results reporting

- Resource Mobilization & Strategic Partnerships: Positioning IOM strategically with governments, donors, and other stakeholders

- Resources Management: Overseeing resource management through a Resource Management Unit (RMU) structure

- Risk, Compliance & Crisis Preparedness: Leading risk management and ensuring the Country Office is prepared for emergency responses

- People Management & Respectful Workplace Culture: Leading, supporting, and developing diverse teams

- Knowledge Management, Data & Innovation: Fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and leveraging data and analysis

- Strategic Communications, Media & External Visibility: Leading IOM's external positioning and visibility at country level

- Internal Organizational Coordination: Maintaining clear coordination with the Regional/Sub-Regional Office and Headquarters

The position requires a Master's degree in a related field with ten years of relevant professional experience, or a university degree with twelve years of experience. Extensive experience in general management, project and resources management, diplomacy, fundraising, and public relations is necessary.

The contract type is fixed-term for 1 year with the possibility of extension.
