## Description

WSP's Engineered Construction team is growing and has an opportunity for a Construction Materials Testing Technician in Atlanta, GA. The successful candidate will perform field inspections and observations for commercial, industrial, and transportation-related construction projects.

Responsibilities:

- Perform testing on general building sites and facilities

- Interpret project plans and specifications for compliance with project requirements

- Perform sampling and testing of concrete according to ASTM and project specifications and ACI Concrete Standards

- Prepare and submit written field reports summarising daily activities, observations, density calculations, and results

- Test and work in accordance with Company safety policies

- Monitor work procedures for compliance with project specifications

- Interact with client representatives, such as supervisors, foremen, project managers, and engineers, at project sites

- Perform analysis or calculations to check the accuracy, applicability, and reasonableness of testing data

Requirements:

- 0-2 years of construction materials testing experience, preferably on commercial or industrial construction projects with an emphasis on concrete testing and inspections

- High School Diploma or equivalent

- Valid Driver's License

- Good driving history

- Reliability to arrive at designated project sites prior to scheduled times

- Ability to prepare reports and documentation

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Basic knowledge of Excel

- Flexibility to work outside normal business hours as required

- Pass a physical, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving policy

Preferred Qualifications:

- Recent graduate with Associates or BS in Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Management

- ACI Field Level I certification (concrete sampling and field testing)

- Fluency in Spanish, Japanese, or Korean

- Working towards BS in the above or BS in Civil Engineering

- IBC Commercial Building Inspector Certification

- ICC Soils Certification

Physical Demands:

- Physical examination required to obtain medical clearance to work

- Ability to stoop, kneel, and routinely lift and carry 50 pounds

- Clean driving record and capable of being insured for driving company vehicles

- Able to work in variable outside conditions, including extreme heat or cold
