## Description

We are seeking a Metallurgy Lab Technician to join our team on 3rd shift in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various laboratory tests and analyses on production welds.

**Responsibilities:**

- Prepare samples for Cut & Etch: Plasma Cutting, Wet Saw, Polishing & Etching (Acid)

- Perform Destructive Cut & Etch testing on production MIG welds, capturing images and measuring weld features using computerized software

- Perform Rockwell hardness testing as required

- Perform destructive & non-destructive testing on Resistance Spot welds and Resistance Projection nuts/studs

- Manage Discrepant Weld Reports, including emailing and generating/data entry/saving reports in Excel

- Document, file, and maintain in-process inspection reports

- Assist others as assigned

- Conduct oneself in a professional and technical manner that positively impacts the Quality Department and Multimatic as a whole

**Requirements:**

- High School diploma or GED

- 2 years of general or specific experience in this field desired

- Basic computer skills (MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook)

- Welding & Plasma Cutting skills desired
