## Description

As a Manager, Data Science at Capital One, you'll lead the next wave of disruption using the latest computing and machine learning technologies across billions of customer records. You'll partner with a cross-functional team to deliver customer-loved products, leveraging a broad stack of technologies like Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, and Spark.

Your responsibilities include:

- Partnering with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to deliver products

- Using technologies like Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, and Spark to reveal insights in large datasets

- Building machine learning models through all phases of development

- Translating complex work into tangible business goals

The ideal candidate is customer-focused, innovative, creative, a leader, technically skilled, statistically-minded, and a data guru.

**Basic Qualifications:**

- Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in a quantitative field

- At least 1 year of experience leveraging open-source programming languages for large-scale data analysis

- At least 1 year of experience working with machine learning

- At least 1 year of experience utilizing relational databases

**Preferred Qualifications:**

- PhD in a STEM field plus 3 years of experience in data analytics

- At least 4 years of experience in Python, Scala, or R for large-scale data analysis

- At least 4 years of experience with machine learning

- At least 4 years of experience with SQL

- At least 1 year of experience working with AWS

**Salary Information:**

- McLean, VA: $197,300 - $225,100

- New York, NY: $215,200 - $245,600

- San Jose, CA: $215,200 - $245,600
