## Description

The Senior Director, Experience Design - Checkout will lead the design vision, strategy, and execution for PayPal's checkout experiences.

This leader will guide a team focused on optimizing and evolving experiences at scale, combining strong design craft with experimentation, iteration, and systems thinking.

Key responsibilities:

- Develop and articulate a clear vision and strategy for checkout experiences

- Oversee and direct the development of user interface plans impacting PayPal revenue, expense, budget, and growth

- Negotiate with and influence senior internal and external executives

- Create operational and strategic objectives enhancing user and customer experiences

- Provide guidance to critical cross-functional teams focused on experience design

- Identify and resolve strategic user interface and interaction design issues

Requirements:

- 12+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree

- 5 years of experience leading others

- Significant product/experience design leadership experience

- Demonstrated experience optimizing complex products or flows at scale

- Strong design craft and fluency with modern design tools

- Experience working within and shaping design systems

- Exceptional storytelling, communication, and executive influence skills

Preferred qualifications:

- 10+ years design leadership experience

- Experience designing checkout, commerce, payments, or similar digital experiences

The base pay for this role will depend on location and experience, with ranges of:

- New York City, NY: $242,000 - $359,150 annually

- Chicago, IL: $220,000 - $326,700 annually

- Austin, TX: $220,000 - $326,700 annually

- San Jose, CA: $242,000 - $359,150 annually
