## Description

We are seeking a Developer Platform Engineer to play a key role in shaping the future of our new developer platform.

As a Developer Platform Engineer, you will design, develop, and improve software, utilizing various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

**Accountabilities**

- Develop and deliver high-quality software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools, ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.

- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.

- Participate in code reviews and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.

- Stay informed about industry technology trends and innovations, and actively contribute to the organisation's technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.

- Adhere to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.

- Implement effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

**Additional Responsibilities**

As an Assistant Vice President, you will be expected to:

- Advise and influence decision-making, contribute to policy development, and take responsibility for operational effectiveness.

- Lead a team performing complex tasks, using well-developed professional knowledge and skills to deliver on work that impacts the whole business function.

- Set objectives and coach employees in pursuit of those objectives, appraise performance relative to objectives, and determine reward outcomes.

**Requirements**

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to build and maintain relationships with business colleagues.

- Full-stack application development experience.

- Proficiency in GitLab/GitHub and CI/CD pipelines.

- Previous experience with automated testing.

**Highly Valued Skills**

- Experience in building an Internal Developer Platform for enterprise use.

- Proficiency in Python and TypeScript/JavaScript (React preferred).

- Experience with Kubernetes and containerization.

- Experience with AWS or another public cloud provider.
