## Description

As a Senior Software Engineering Manager at Electronic Arts, specifically within the EA SPORTS™ UFC team in Vancouver, BC, you will lead a diverse and global engineering team. Your responsibilities will include people management, improving team health, mentoring engineers, driving staffing and recruitment, fostering an agile engineering culture, determining technical resource requirements, promoting technical processes, coordinating strategic efforts, and improving workflows.

The EA SPORTS™ UFC franchise offers an electrifying spectacle and entertainment of MMA for over 20 million players globally. The team aims to become the world's greatest fighting game. As a Senior Software Engineering Manager, you will help build a motivated team with varied technical capabilities, including system design, engineering workflows, and online architectures.

Key responsibilities:

- Manage all aspects of people management for engineering teams, including hiring, career growth, and performance management.

- Improve team health and manage employee well-being.

- Lead mentoring, knowledge-sharing, and guidance to grow engineers.

- Drive staffing and recruitment for teams.

- Foster an agile engineering culture valuing delivery, quality, and good craftsmanship.

- Determine technical resource requirements to meet project goals.

- Promote and create technical processes, plans, and task management for technical teams/features.

- Coordinate strategic efforts and planning with team members and partners.

- Improve workflows, tools, and iteration loops to increase productivity.

- Stay updated with the latest developments in engineering and technology.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or 10+ years of relevant work experience.

- 5+ years of experience leading agile engineering teams of 6+ engineers.

- Experience with mentoring, goal setting, mediation, and career planning.

- Experience identifying and recruiting talent.

- Technical understanding of OOP and C++ to coach engineers.

- Experience with development environment tools such as Perforce, Git, Visual Studio.

- Familiarity with Continuous Integration, Delivery, and Deployment best practices.
