## Description

Discord is seeking a Senior Staff Brand Designer to join its new Brand Team within the Design Foundations department. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping Discord's brand strategy, visual identity, and guidelines.

The Brand Team is responsible for maintaining Discord's identity, voice, and visual system across various surfaces. The Senior Staff Brand Designer will report to the Director of Product Design, Design Foundations.

Key responsibilities include:

- Defining Discord's brand strategy, positioning, and narrative

- Evolving and maintaining the visual identity system, including logo, wordmark, color, typography, iconography, illustration, and motion

- Building and maintaining brand guidelines and standards for co-branding, partnerships, and third-party integrations

- Enabling teams to use the brand effectively through templates, design kits, and workshops

- Reviewing and approving brand-facing work across marketing, product, and partnerships

- Applying the brand directly on core surfaces, such as app icons, deck templates, and marketing site design system

- Running an annual brand audit and monitoring the competitive landscape

Requirements:

- 10+ years of experience in brand or identity design, preferably in the gaming industry

- Exemplary craft across identity, typography, color, iconography, illustration, and motion

- Track record of brand strategy work, including positioning, brand architecture, and sub-brand systems

- Experience writing brand guidelines and governance models

- Comfort with ambiguity and willingness to do hands-on work while setting direction

- Strong presentation skills and ability to align stakeholders at every level

- Hands-on experience using AI tools and agents in brand work

Nice to have:

- Experience standing up a brand function, brand portal, or DAM from scratch

- Experience with co-branding and partnership governance, or trademark and usage compliance

- Experience working alongside a design systems team, including Figma libraries and variables
