As a Forward Deployed Software Engineer, you will work directly with customers to quickly understand their greatest problems and design and implement solutions to use data against them. Our customers rely on Palantir's platforms for some of their most critical operations, and projects often begin with an open-ended question, such as: "How can we evaluate the risk of forest fire and, consequently, optimize the electrical network?" or "How can we rapidly assess our food supply chain and adapt it to provide vital aid on time?" As a member of our team, you will apply your problem-solving skills, creativity, and technical expertise to help organizations unlock the value of their data and have a real impact on the world. Responsibilities: - Work directly with customers to quickly understand their greatest problems and design and implement solutions to use data against them. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, and deployment strategists. - Develop and maintain high-quality software solutions that meet customer needs. - Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of our software development processes. - Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies. Requirements: - Ability to travel to customer sites as needed. - Demonstrated ability to learn continuously, work independently, and make decisions with minimal direction. - Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams and be comfortable working in a dynamic environment with changing objectives and user iterations. - Willingness to creatively solve technical problems related to data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, front-end frameworks, and other technical tools. - Interest in working with large datasets and using them to solve operational problems. Experience: - Experience in engineering, preferably in fields such as computer science, mathematics, software engineering, physics, and data science. - Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, TypeScript/JavaScript, or similar. - Must be willing to obtain a degree in 2027. It must be your last internship before graduating. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with Palantir's products and technologies. - Familiarity with agile development methodologies. - Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms. - Experience with cloud-based services and infrastructure. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
