## Description

WSP is currently seeking a Senior Civil or Environmental Engineer for our Holland, Lansing, or Novi, MI office.

In this role, you will join our Earth & Environment Team and focus on projects related to solid waste, CCR, power, hydropower, stormwater, and infrastructure. The successful candidate will support a diverse range of areas including geotechnical design and analysis, civil design, earthworks construction, piping systems, surface water management, erosion and slope stability, and landfill permitting and design.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide proactive and strategic leadership for the civil engineering discipline and function

- Perform engineering reviews of permit applications, designs, and contracts

- Lead larger-scale civil engineering projects

- Pursue and develop business opportunities within the infrastructure sector

- Lead technical aspects of contract negotiation and presentations

- Support the long-term strategy, growth, and pipeline development of Civil Engineering work

- Mentor staff and provide performance guidance and leadership

- Remain current with the latest engineering techniques and practices

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a closely related discipline

- 10+ years of relevant post-education experience in engineering, civil and infrastructure design

- Engineer license required (multi-state preferred)

- Advanced proficiency with civil engineering principles, practices, and design software

- Strong working knowledge of relevant civil construction laws, codes, regulations, and compliance practices

- Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

- Master's degree in Engineering

- Experience in managing document review and approval processes
