As an OB RN, you will provide care to mother/baby dyads, assisting with breastfeeding, routine post-partum care of the mom, and normal newborn care. The unit consists of 25 beds across two campuses, and support persons are encouraged to stay with Mom and baby to promote bonding and family-centred care.

The Clinical Nurse II is responsible for providing competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards. You will report to the Nurse Manager/Director and be accountable for coordinating and delivering patient care using the nursing process in a hospital setting.

Key responsibilities include:

- Participating in identifying and meeting learning needs, attending education programs, and using patient education materials relevant to the patient population

- Evaluating patient care, identifying expected outcomes, and communicating relevant information to promote continuity of care

- Implementing care plans, demonstrating competence in caring for patients with complex problems, and performing bedside point-of-care testing as required

- Providing leadership, developing goals to promote professional growth, and participating in unit goals and performance improvement activities

- Assessing patients, recognising data from complex situations, and synthesizing assessment data into meaningful wholes

- Planning care, collaborating with patients and families, and making use of available multidisciplinary resources

Requirements:

- Graduation from a school of professional nursing

- Licensure as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina

- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification

- One year of nursing experience
