## Description

We are seeking a full-time Arabic Interpreter & Translator to join our team at Millennium Translations Ltd in Manchester.

The successful candidate will be responsible for interpreting and translating various documents, including scientific, legal, and literary texts, while ensuring the original meaning is conveyed accurately.

**Main Requirements**

- Possess a full UK driver's license and access to their own vehicle.

- Provide a current, valid Enhanced CRB clearance.

- Provide references to verify interpreting and translation experience.

- Be fluent in English and culturally competent and fluent in Arabic.

**Role of an Interpreter & Translator** The role involves consecutive interpretation, converting one language to another in real-time, and translation of various documents.

**Interpretation Responsibilities**

- Interpret in various settings, including mental health settings, GP practices, hospitals, dental practices, police settings, court proceedings, local authorities, schools, councils, solicitors, education, health, and social services sectors.

- Interpret verbal communications in real-time into another language, paying attention to context, meaning, tone, and technical wording.

- Consult reference works to keep up-to-date with terminology and acquire specialist knowledge when needed.

- Attend booked assignments, drive to and from assignments, and adhere to high standards of professional behavior, maintaining confidentiality and following the Interpreter Code of Conduct.

**Requirements**

- Qualifications in interpreting, translation, or linguistics, such as MA, BA, DPSI, or Community Interpreting Certificate.

- Minimum of one year's professional experience, with references required to verify experience.

- Minimum of 200 hours previous experience working as an interpreter, ideally within the public sector.

- Two references for previous completed projects relating to professional translation specialism.
