## Description

Procurement Operations is the front door for buying at Anthropic. We are hiring a Procurement Operations Business Partner to own the purchasing process for technology spend: business applications, SaaS tools, cloud and infrastructure services, and engineering and developer tools.

Responsibilities:

- Manage a high volume of purchase requests, renewals, and license changes each month across the organization.

- Serve as the primary procurement partner for the teams buying in your categories.

- Review every purchase request in your portfolio for accuracy and completeness.

- Determine what else each request requires before it can move.

- Partner with Security to run a vendor security review on every new tool and at every renewal.

- Launch and track contract review with Legal.

- Structure purchase orders to match how the vendor bills and how Accounting needs to see the spend.

- Track license counts and renewal dates across your portfolio.

Financial completeness and accuracy:

- Code every purchase order correctly at creation.

- Work the hard cases with Accounting.

- Own the open purchase order book.

- Serve as the first line reviewer for month-end accruals on your portfolio.

- Partner with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice holds and PO mismatches.

Be the front door:

- Be visible and responsive in your teams' Slack channels and office hours.

- Apply purchasing policy consistently and explain the why.

- Translate procurement, legal, security, and finance requirements into plain language.

- Keep a regular check in with your highest volume teams.

Continuous improvement:

- Maintain the playbooks, intake guidance, and standard operating procedures for your portfolio.

- Identify manual steps, repeat questions, and failure points and fix them.

Minimum qualifications:

- Proven track record of owning a high-volume purchasing portfolio end-to-end.

- Solid working knowledge of accrual accounting as it applies to purchasing.

- Experience buying and managing software or SaaS at scale.

- Experience owning the tool and vendor lifecycle end to end.

Preferred qualifications:

- 7+ years of procurement operations, purchasing, or vendor operations.
